Regular Driver
Load the CD Rom for driver setup into the computer
Go to Start Setup Again and begin configuration
XPS
If you are installing the XPS driver, then from the CD Rom you have to choose Add Software -> XPS Driver
Specify
- Now, open the Print box from the application software to specify the printer driver
- Select the printer model name for the regular printer driver
- For XPS you will enter printer model name along with the suffix XPS

From the Application Software
- When printing you must configure the printing profile if you are using the application software to open the Canon Printer Driver setup window
- To select the command to generally print do File -> Print and a dialog box will open

- Choose Settings > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers if you are using Windows 8 and 8.1 desktop

- Once the extracted file has been downloaded – it will ask for the location of the file
- Just extract it by double-clicking on it
- Select Unzip if prompted and allow the computer to restore the zipped file to its folder format

- Then go to Control Panel and look for Devices and Printers and then click on Add a Printer
Appending the Printer Device
- The system scans for available printer models and provides you with a listing
- Choose the relevant printer name and click on Next
- On the subsequent page, click the radio button against Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next
- A page will open asking you to choose an existing port
- From the listing choose the last one which you will use to implement the print job and then choose Next
Driver installation
- Since you have already extracted the folder to install the Canon Printer Driver, select Have Disk -> Browse -> Desktop (the place where the folder is)
- From the folder choose the X32 or X64 as the case may be -> Driver folder -> double-click on the .INF file -> Select Ok
- Again at the Add Printer screen, your printer model name is visualized, click on Next on the both the subsequent screens
- Enter a name for the printer device -> Next
- Thereafter, you may choose to share the printer at the Printer Sharing screen – for this you may have to enter the Location and also place a Comment -> Click Next -> Finish
- The Finish screen will display that the printer along with the driver have been successfully added to the computer
- Remember to set the current printer as your default by checking against the box
- At the same screen, you can also check if the printer is working by clicking on Print a Test Page
